BMI Annual Recap 2025

Recap 2025

With the second edition of the yearly newsletter we hope to give you some insight on the year 2025 that has gone by for BMI as well as the bearing industry in general.

Looming tariffs since the start of 2025 has made business condition quite volatile for the entire industry and especially for the supply chain teams. Still with the existing tariff conditions BMI has been able to maintain a flat growth thanks to the new products developed and expanding range.

We believe that the tariff war should settle by the time you read this and business conditions turn normal for all the customers globally helping the supply chain teams plan better for 2026.

This will definitely help BMI grow business further in USA market where our product has been tested but due to tariffs OEM’s have been reluctant to change.

The future is bright, and BMI is ready to lead the charge. Stay tuned- this is just the beginning!

Building Networks, Driving Growth

We actively participate in leading international trade shows to directly increase our global market presence, cultivate a robust distributor network, and accelerate business development.

Participation in Bearingnet USA 2025:

BMI Bearings USA Inc had satisfactory participation at the Bearingnet conference in Washington DC to appoint additional distributors globally and increase the reach of BMI. It was a good success and below are just some of the new contacts BMI has made at the conference interested in becoming distributors in their region.

Participation in AGG1 show:

In order to further showcase our strength in the Aggregate industry BMI Bearings USA Inc participated in the AGG1 show in March 2025 showcasing our Mounted Spherical ( S2000 series ) and Mounted Tapered roller bearing ( Type E series ). The product was much appreciated by the customers especially the sealing design and hence BMI will planning to stock the entire range in USA from 2026.

PTDA 2025 USA – San Antonio Texas:

BMI Bearings USA Inc is now proud to be a part of PTDA which is the most premier association for power transmission distributors in North America and South America. To tap the potential in US market BMI team participated at the PTDA conference and had fruitful discussions with several distributors about working together with BMI in their local market. During the event BMI appointed a distributor as well for one of the regions of Latin America.

Participation in Agritecnica 2025 : Hannover – Germany

With the increasing references of OEM customers with whom BMI is already working in the agriculture industry, BMI decided to exhibit the range of Agri hub and other solutions which we are offering. It was a very successful show with a lot of interest for BMI India products from clients in Chile, Argentina, USA and Europe as well.

New Product Launches

Next-Gen Unitized Agri Hub

From new designs to critical bearing replacements, high machinery availability is key to productivity. The BMI Agri Hub makes it possible.

The BMI Agri Hub lasts multiple times longer than a traditional bearing, thanks to:

  • An integrated flange and unique sealing design
  • A sealed & greased hub solution that is maintenance free

Save time and increase productivity by:

  • Using a preassembled unit, which simplifies installation
  • Extensive last and field test reveals that the BMI agri hub for tillage disc can deliver 5X life for OEM and end user.

Built to extend the capabilities of the standard BMI Agri Hub units for tillage with –

  • 10% more bearing loading capacity
  • 20% larger shaft
  • 30% thicker steel flange
  • 40% larger seal contact area

OEM benefits

  1. Reduce warranty, engineering and testing costs
  2. Unitized design helps reduce assembly costs

End-user benefits

  1. Greater uptime and productivity
  2. Reduced relubrication and mechanical maintenance costs
  3. Higher-speed tillage

Case Study:

Custom Solution: Enhancing Tram Wheel Bearing Performance

Problem Analysis

The investigation revealed that the wheel-end bearings were experiencing load spikes and shock conditions beyond what was optimal for steel cage designs. The cage material was identified as the critical factor in the recurring failures and breakage of the bearing.

Solution Implementation

Based on BMI engineering team’s analysis, the steel cage spherical roller bearings were replaced with brass cage variants for several technical advantages:

Property Steel Cage Brass Cage
Shock Resistance Moderate Excellent
Load Capacity under Variable Conditions Good Superior
Deformation Resistance May deform under extreme shock Maintains integrity under shock
Heat Dissipation Standard Enhanced
Friction Characteristics Standard Improved

Results

The solution successfully extended bearing life by 60%, enhancing resistance to extreme loads and shock conditions encountered in tram operations.

Feel free to reach out to BMI application engineers on sales@bmibearings.com for any technical questions or any such non-standard development.
