Thrust Ball Bearings

A thrust ball bearing is a specialized rotary bearing designed to support axial (thrust) loads at high speeds while providing minimal friction. It consists of two washers (shaft and housing washers) with raceways and a ball and cage assembly. Unlike radial bearings, thrust ball bearings cannot accommodate any radial loads and must be subjected to pure axial loading. These bearings are ideal for vertical shafts, rotary tables, and applications where axial forces dominate, such as in gearboxes, ship propeller shafts, and heavy-duty slewing cranes.

Pure axial support

Specifically designed for pure axial loads with no radial loading, enabling optimized performance at high speeds.

Separable design

Components (shaft washer, housing washer, and ball cage) are separate, simplifying assembly, disassembly, and replacement.

High speed capability

Steel or brass cage ensures precise ball guidance for low-friction operation at high speeds.
