Steel mill bearings face radiant heat, abrasive mill scale, coolant ingress, and 24/7 production. BMI Bearings uses 8620 carburized steel (case depth 2.5–4.0 mm, core 58–62 HRC) for impact resistance and crack prevention based on application needs. Designs focus on extended life and lower TCO through advanced metallurgy, precision sealing, and application-specific geometry.

  • Sendzimir Mill Bearings
    Multi-row cylindrical rollers for backup rolls. High radial stiffness, runout ≤ 0.005 mm, speeds up to 1,500 RPM. Carburized rings resist brinelling.
  • Tension Leveller Bearings
    For flexing work rolls. Internal clearance C4–C5 accommodates roll bending.
  • Combined Bearings
    Combined bearings are heavy-duty components designed to handle simultaneous axial and radial loads. They integrate a radial bearing and an axial roller into a single, compact unit. This design optimizes space, reduces manufacturing costs, and simplifies structural layouts.

  • Sealed Spherical Roller Bearings
    Sealed spherical roller bearings integrate high-performance contact seals to protect the inner elements from contamination and retain lubricant, drastically extending service life in harsh environments without the need for manual relubrication.

  • Material: 8620 carburized steel and 52100/100 CrSiMn6.
  • Heat stabilization: Up to +200°C; high-temp variants available.
  • Clearance: C4/C5 standard for thermal expansion in hot mills.
  • Cages: Machined brass, steel, or PEEK – selected per speed, temp, and lubrication (oil mist, flood, or grease).
  • Surface: Black oxide or phosphate coating for break-in and corrosion protection.
